Georgian Intaglio Fob "A Letter Softens The Pain of Absence" charms circa 1990sGeorgian seal fob with a sentimental intaglio carved into the carnelian base. Written on the page of a letter are the words "UNE LETTRE ADOUCIT LES PIENES DE L'ABSCENCE" a letter softens the pain of absence. The letter also features a wax seal that reads simply "&" et cetera. The intaglio is reverse carved allowing an imprint to be made in wax. It dates from the early 19th century, circa 1810, built in 15ct yellow gold. Era: Georgian, circa 1810
