I was up by 4:00 am to catch the sunrise at Wildflower Lake and at the trailhead by 4:30 am

Mist lingers throughout the morning hours as the sun rises behind this peachleaf willow tree sending out sunbursts just before I cross over the South Fork Kishwaukee River on this cool summer morning at Wildflower Park

Upwards of 1500 canada geese can be seen on their migration north at Wildflower Lake and along the South Fork Kishwaukee River as this individual flies overhead continuing on to its breeding grounds

It was here that I seen 3 green herons up in a peachleaf willow tree
